Seta Di Mare
Meet Seta di Mare, luxurious textile wallcovering collection.
Sea silk, an extremely fine, rare, and valuable fabric, was produced in the Mediterranean region from the large marine mollusc Pinna nobilis until early in the 20th century. The shell, which is sometimes almost a metre long, adheres itself to rocks with a tuft of very strong thin fibres. Once extracted from the shell, cleaned and spun, they possess a beautiful dark chestnut color. The ultra-rare material made from these fibers was the height of fashion and highly prized. It was harvested to make robes for King Solomon, bracelets for Nefertiti, and holy vestments for priests, popes and pharaohs. Rich Sea Silk embroideries are displayed in the Louvre, the British Museum and the Vatican.
Beautiful intricate patterns of the SETA DI MARE collection remind of the amazing underwater worlds of the Ligurian coastline. Mostly made of pure mulberry silk and natural linen, these noble wallcoverings offer an array of contemporary possibilities for high style walls. SETA DI MARE features a light sheen, refined texture and subtle gleam. Pure luxury you can touch..
